How to distinguish aluminum conductor steel reinforced from all aluminium conductor?
2024-04-28
ACSR and AAC are no external insulation wire, that is, we commonly known as "bare wire", and people who do not understand the cable industry may not know how to distinguish between ACSR and AAC, they are aluminum wire in appearance. So, how to distinguish between ACSR and AAC?
1.From the color of the cross section
We can clearly see that the color of one or more conductors in the middle of the cross section of the ACSRwill be heavier than the color of the outer layer of aluminum wire, so it is the ACSR, and the color of the AAC is all the same;
2.From how hard and soft the wires are
Because of the existence of steel wire inside the ACSR, the overall hardness will be much stronger than the aluminum strand, we can use the hand to distinguish the method, and the AAC will be softer;
3.From the weight of the conductor
Because the ACSR has steel wire inside, we all know that the weight of steel is heavier than aluminum, so it can also be distinguished by weighing.
4.From the model difference
ACSR referred to as: "LGJ" is composed of aluminum wire and steel wire twisted, and ordinary AAC "L J" is mainly suitable for overhead transmission lines. The inside of the ACSR is a steel "core", and the outside is wound around the steel core with aluminum wire through the twisted way. The steel core mainly plays the role of increasing strength, and the AAC mainly plays the role of transmitting electric energy. Both of them are bare wires, basically the same in use, and different in model specifications.
Ordinary AAC: The model is indicated by "LJ", which is a bare wire. At present, China generally uses aluminum-clad steel conductor (LGJ) as a conductor, the steel core mainly plays the role of increasing strength, and the aluminum stranded wire mainly plays the role of transmitting electrical energy. The cross-sectional area of the wire varies according to the voltage. For example, at present, the wires of 500 kV transmission lines generally use LGJ-400/35 wires. Where L is the abbreviation of aluminum wire, G is the abbreviation of steel core, J is the abbreviation of twisted wire, 400 is aluminum 400 square mm, 35 is steel 35 square mm.
5.Main Appilications
The ACSR is a reinforced wire with single or multi-layer aluminum strand twisted outside the galvanized steel core wire. Mainly used in power and transmission line industry. The steel core aluminum strand has the characteristics of simple structure, easy erection and maintenance, low line cost, large transmission capacity, which is conducive to the laying of special geographical conditions such as rivers and valleys, good electrical conductivity and sufficient mechanical strength, large tensile strength, and the distance of the tower can be amplified. Therefore, it is widely used in overhead transmission and distribution lines of various voltage levels.
Generally, for high-voltage transmission lines, due to the limited path of the line, and it is impossible to put multiple lines on a path, so people came up with a path, a set of iron towers, hanging multiple wires, that is, a line is equivalent to a number of lines. For example: for 500KV transmission lines, China mostly uses the way of hanging four wires, this way of wiring is called the same tower and scaffolding. This is the main reason why some rods are used for "LJ" as well as "LGJ".
